The Daily Breath - Monday, February 28, 2022

February 28, 2022

Monday

Mark and I had a nice walk today

The weather was clear and warm

Our ambulatory enthusiasm

Was a little compromised

By pain

My back hurt!

In the evening at 7 pm

Chris shared his book with us

On zoom

He read the three sections

and talked a little

and then we had a breakout session

this time I was with five other people

two couples

and a single woman

we had a nice chat

which ended with one of the husbands

revealing that he used to fly a lot

in his sleep

Dream Transmission

(language carried over

From Sermon on Sunday)

So Megan burst through the open sliding glass door

Brandishing a t-bone steak without the meat

Or a chicken skeleton

Without the chicken

Only a few scraps of meat hanging

I wanted to ask how she found it

But I didn’t want to get into

The order from the office that we not

Put food scraps in our back yard

And never put any bones or any trash whatsoever

In the green space

She was just standing there

Her arms outstretched

With a carcass

Dangling from her left hand

Smiling

I thought I was awake

But I wasn’t

Thank Goodness

The Daily Breath - Sunday, February 27, 2022 (my birthday!)

February 27, 2022

Sunday

We had a great birthday party, Megan, Mark and Me

Megan got Chinese food

Mark got candy, cake, champagne

And red roses

I got cards

Addressed to me

We wore our party hats

And took pictures

Before the party we went to church

9 am service!

The sermon was about

Belief in transformation

And transfiguration

Without which

You get what we got

Today

Violent transmission

After church we went to Winters

A great Sunday out-of-doors destination

On a beautiful sunny morning

A haven for bicyclists

with cleaty clompy shoes

Loud on the wooden walkway

In front of the coffee shop

Great coffee and a cake-y pastry

We drove back on

Pleasants Valley Road

Sad to see the fire damage

Burnt out properties not rebuilt

But still a lovely road that took us

From Winters to Vacaville

Home

The Daily Breath - Saturday, February 26, 2022

February 26, 2022

Saturday

Allan came to visit

First time in years

First visitor from the Bay Area

Since the pandemic

We forgot to wear masks

But we social distanced

A trio in the seating area

Me on the smaller L part of the couch

Allan on the far left of the main part of the couch

Mark in the seldom-used black chair

Across the room

Allan brought some great ideas for

Fresh Voices 22

Thank goodness

I wasn’t coming up with

Anything

I was going to depend on Mark

I needed a jump start

“Got the Hang of it!”

That’s what Allan called it

Fun stuff with intention

Big cast of past performers

From 2000 to 2022

What fun!

Also:

Allan brought a delicious fruit and custard tart!

And a birthday card

Tomorrow is my birthday!!
