Laura asked me again

So I ushered for another

Bach Concert  at DCC

Great Monteverdi

Very exciting

Second and last concert

Of the season

Hurray

The good news

For this concert

I did not have to put

Tiny paper bracelets

on everybody’s wrist

AND

I got to actually

USHER

That is

Show people to their seats

Which it turned out

wasn’t necessary

In most cases

Because they have been there

Many times before

They know the drill

But at least I made them

Take a PROGRAM

Though most already had one

And I helped CLEAN UP

I like to be helpful

I was taking small signs

With the alphabet

Printed on them

From each pew

Though it turned out

I was usurping

Carmen’s job

She is 9

She moves fast

Everywhere I went

She was there before me

So I gave her the few I had collected

And got out of her way

In all fairness

She

Like the audience

Has been there before

Actually her whole life

She is Emma’s daughter

(Our wonderful choir director)

And she grew up in the church

It’s her second home

She owns it

She is also extremely

Well-behaved

And she has a beautiful

Voice
