Good Friday!

No robes

Up in the balcony

With handheld lights

And lots of music

Including the Miserere

Mark and I had volunteered

To help out with the readings

They needed four readers

And they only had two

There was no time for rehearsal

We were given a hand-held

Microphone

Which we were to share

And were cautioned

By Pastor Chris

“Do not be overly dramatic

or improvise”

Why would we want to do that?

Apparently some people have

Nothing personal

We were all masked

Except I lost my singer’s mask

Right there in the balcony

I tried to wear the K95

But my nose was running

Not only that

But I had to move to the front

To be near Mark

So we could share the microphone

And I left my purse etc.

On the bench way in the back

So I couldn’t get my

Handkerchief

I had to wipe my nose on

My long-sleeved black shirt

I had everything else under control

At least I thought I did

And after Mark read beautifully

I read beautifully

We did the hand-offs of the mike

Pretty flawlessly

We were pleased

During the Miserere

I kept my eye on Emma

Conducting

And thought I had done

Pretty well

Although I was not masked

Like everybody else

I looked everywhere for my

Singer’s mask

In the balcony

And at home

I ransacked my room

No luck

I have ordered one

From Amazon

Delivery

Tomorrow
